Programs Such as DoublePlay & TriplePlay Change Quickly
You may have heard about Double Play or Triple Play in the news. It’s important you understand the differences between the Double Play and Triple Play Programs, the existing Maryland Mortgage Program (MMP) and other state programs that are available. Each program has different guidelines, requirements and procedures in order to take advantage of this great home buying assistance funding for Prince Georges County homebuyers! The Double Play Program replaced Triple Play for Prince Georges County in early 2015 and has exhausted its funding. Triple Play was a wildly successful program where over 300 home buyers qualified for Down Payment and Closing Costs help plus federal tax credits and lower interest rates. Launched in November, 2014 by Maryland’s Department of Housing & Community Development, the Triple Play program was part of the existing Maryland Mortgage Program (MMP) incentive program. This new program was designed to offer first time homebuyers and county residents the opportunity to use 3 valuable incentives when buying a home in certain zip codes in Prince Georges County. The Triple Play Program has ended due to its initial $6 million funding being exhausted.
